During our recent training seminar at Olpusimoru Primary, OFDC received a request to include the young girls in the school during the women’s health portion of the training. Passing along this knowledge to the younger generation is essential to ensure the topics discussed can be retained and practiced at a young age.
In total, 304 girls attended the various health discussions and each received a pack of sanitary pads. Each pack purchased a $1.11 and each pack contained 8 towels. Having access to clean sanitary pads is an essential part at keeping girls in school. If they do not have pads, they often choose to not attend school because of the lack of privacy or from the potential embarrassment if they were to get blood stains on their uniform.
